+What coatings do you offer?
We offer coatings to resist scratch and abrasion, and reduce glare and reflection on polycarbonate and acrylic plastic. There are datasheets on each coating located under the “Datasheets” tab at the top of every page on our website. Note that we don’t sell plastic coatings: we COAT plastics.
+Do you coat glass?
No, we only work with plastic. For a comparison of the advantages of plastic vs. glass, please see our blog post on the topic.
+What plastics do you coat?
We work with rigid plastics (>0.030” thickness), polycarbonate and acrylic only, in both sheet and molded (3D) form. Note that we do not do films (<0.030” thickness).
+How do you apply your coatings?
TSP has the capabilities to coat via flow, dip or spray and cure via thermal or UV energy. All coatings are applied in a Class 10,000 Cleanroom. The method used for your particular application is determined by which produces the highest quality most economically for your particular use.
+I have a molded (or formed) 3D part. Can you coat it?
Yes, depending on the part geometry. Location and size of lips, holes, edges, etc. will determine coating feasibility. Supply us with a sample part or part drawing and we can provide you with a quick assessment.
+I have a flat part. Can you supply me with a finished part, or do I have to receive it as coated sheet and fabricate it to size ourselves or through a 3rd party?
Yes and yes. We can supply you with a coated sheet or sheet blank, or supply you with a finished, fabricated flat part. We have full fabrication capabilities – lasercutting, CNC, precision saw cutting, etc. – to finish out your part so it is ready-to-install.
+I have a single part. Can you coat it?
Yes, but we are not your best resource for one-offs (1 ea.). Our minimum orders are $250.00.
+We have a large plastic window and need Anti-Reflection. Can you provide?
We can handle AR coat jobs up to 12” x 12” in size (please consult the DURAVUE 7000 datasheets). Larger AR parts are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
+My application is for a touchscreen. Will your coating work?
Rigid plastics have limited use for touchscreens, and since we only coat rigid plastics, it is unlikely that it will work for your application. We recommend you 1st test to see if plastic will work, and then confirm with a coated sample from us.
+What does it cost to apply your coatings to/for my part?
Unit cost is a function of many factors, including: size, thickness, material, quantity, type of coating and in-use cosmetic acceptance criteria. By supplying us with these inputs we can quickly provide you with a quotation.
+How does your performance compare to competitor(s)?
TSP’s siloxane-based DURAVUE coatings are high performance coatings, meeting or exceeding the most stringent requirements of Automotive, DoD (Military), Aerospace and Electronic OEMs around the world.
+What markets do you serve?
In addition to those mentioned above, we serve any industrial market in which durable plastic is used for viewing or data acquisition. Note that we are not a Business-to-Consumer (B-to-C) supplier. We supply B-to-B OEMs and their respective CMs. We are not a retail or residential home improvement supplier, i.e. residential windows and TV screens, table tops, boat & camper windows, etc. For these applications, you are better served through local plastic distributors or fabricators.
+Are you ISO (9001) certified?
Not as of this writing. We do maintain strict quality control and documented operating processes, with a robust Quality Plan and Operations Manual developed over years of good manufacturing practices.
+Where are you located? Do you have sales representative/distributors in my area (include overseas)?
